STIMUTRAN-SME stands for Stimulating Transnational SME Interactions and focuses on SME business matching and cooperation in North West Europe (NWE). This project has been implemented with the financial contribution from the European Commission, through the INTERREG IIIB NWE program. The 10 STIMUTRAN-SME project partners have established a Transnational Matching Centre (TMC) network which provides SMEs with international business cooperation services. The latter includes developing export plans and business partner search.

Since the start of the project in January 2006 STIMUTRAN-SME has organised 5 business matching events at different trade fairs in the north west Europe region: BioTrinity 2007 (UK), Industrial Maintenance (The Netherlands), SHOP food & retail (Ireland), CONTACT/SME Forum 2007 and BioTrinity 2008. The STIMUTRAN TMC network will continue to organise international business matching events after funding of the European Commission has ended (May 2008). This will be done in cooperation with other business matching organisers, such as b2fair.
